The Kyo Hoon inter-club competition will take place on Saturday 28th November 2009 at:
Bellhouse Road Working Men’s Club, 470 Bellhouse Road, Shire Green, Sheffield, S5 0RF.
It will feature Mudo events (patterns, 1 & 3-step sparring, self-defence, flying side kick) along with one-on-one sparring and team events.
Events & Categories
Individual Pattern
Competitor will perform 1 traditional pattern of their own choice. This can be either Pal Jung Do or Taegeuk, Koryo etc.
In the event of a tie in a medal position the competitor will perform again.
U 10 Kup Grades (Cadet) 11 - 17 Kup Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Kup Grades (Snr) Up to 17 Dan Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Dan Grades (Snr) Creative Pattern
Competitor will perform a creative pattern up to a maximum of 2 minutes.
In the event of a tie in a medal position the competitor will perform again.
U 10 Kup Grades (Cadet) 11 - 17 Kup Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Kup Grades (Snr) Up to 17 Dan Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Dan Grades (Snr) 1 or 3-step Sparring
Competitors will perform a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 techniques each. Traditional technique only. No take downs, no self-defence and no contact.
In the event of a tie in a medal position the competitors will perform again.
U 10 Kup Grades (Cadet) 11 - 17 Kup Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Kup Grades (Snr) Up to 17 Dan Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Dan Grades (Snr) Self-Defence
Competitors will perform a self-defence routine for a maximum of 1.5 minutes. Replica weapons may be used but not real ones.
In the event of a tie in a medal position the competitors will perform again.
U 10 Kup Grades (Cadet) 11 - 17 Kup Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Kup Grades (Snr) Up to 17 Dan Grades (Jnr) 18 and over Dan Grades (Snr) Flying Side Kick
Competitors will perform a flying side kick over a high jump bar. The height in cm of the competitor’s highest jump will be taken from the competitor’s height to gain a score. The person with the lowest score wins.
U 16 All Grades 16 and over All Grades Team Event
Competitors will perform a synchronised traditional pattern, synchronised one-step routine and a self-defence display. The marks from all 3 being added to give an overall score.
U 18 All Grades 18 and over All Grades Full Contact Sparring
This will be a 1 to 1 competition with competitors being matched as close as possible. This will be done first with gender, age, weight and grade.
There will be no more than 4 kilos weight difference except in the case of the heavy weight class.
No contact to the head in a match with 11 years old and under.
There will be two rounds of 2 minutes for 12 years old and over with a 30 second rest.
There will be 2 rounds of 1.5 minutes for 11 years old and under with a 30 second rest.
1 point will be awarded for each scoring technique regardless whether it is to the head or body.
The referee will stop the match if a competitor receives 3 standing counts of 8 seconds in any one round.

11th October 2009 - English Taekwondo Federation Sparring Competition
Congratulations to our students who competed in the ETF Sparring competition. Jessica and Branden took the Gold medals in their categories and Chelsea took the Silver. Daniel and Mikey took the Bronze in their categories. Here are some of them after the competition along with Dan, their coach:

20th September 2009 - Chun Ma Inter-Club Competition
The Chun Ma inter-club competition will take place on Sunday 20th September 2009 at:
Armthorpe Community Centre, Church Street, Armthorpe, Doncaster, DN3 3AN.
It will feature Mudo events (patterns, 1 & 3-step sparring, self-defence, flying side kick) along with one-on-one sparring and team events.
The doors open from 9:00am and the first competition event will start at 10:00am.
